Autumn Crafts

Autumn is my favourite season of all. The trees turning of those wonderful characteristic colours that Canada is so well known for.

Also, it is the perfect season for crafting. With all these days stuck indoors, creating something while it is raining outside feels great!

Last year I found several crafting projects, but due lack of time, or other reasons I don’t remember, we did only a few of them. This year, we are ready to pick all those leaves from the ground and put them to good use.

Leaf lanterns/lamp: Last September, I created a “leaves lamp” with my son and it looked fantastic. We both loved it and it was very easy, and fun, to make. The result was stunning. We will probably do it again this year with different leaves!

Painted leaf bunting: We will be doing this one this year. We will do it with brown leaves and painted with autumn colors. I told my son and he can’t wait to do it.

Leaf crowns: We were looking together at craft pictures and Noah loved the idea of having a leaf crown, so I guess this will be another thing to try in autumn!

Suncatcher: I already bought the embroidery hoops, they are very cheap at Michaels (around 2-3 dollars) and they have them in all different sizes. I’m the one excited for this project!

Wreath: Three years ago my husband and I picked up some sticks and we made a very pretty, minimalist wreath that we hang every autumn on our front door. This year we want to add a few leaves to it, and while I do it, Noah and Lily will have a go at making their own.

What autumn crafts are you making this year?
