I Like Myself

It is time for another favourite book of mine!

I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont is a fantastic story all about a girl who likes herself no matter what! This book is an absolute must read in a world that is all too concerned with image. The main character goes from external body parts to her personality, and the bottom line is, no matter what others think, say or do, she likes herself the way she is.

Aside from the catchy rhyming storyline and amazing message to young book lovers, this story has incredible pictures illustrated by David Catrow which inspire a whole world of imagination. Reading this book is a fun and catchy ride of self-loving kindness and should be read with any young child!

Books that have a rhyming theme have a great way of being memorable and predictable which is very alluring for young story listeners and readers. Once you read the story a few times, even the youngest of children can begin to fill in the blanks at the end of a sentence and feel proud to be a part of the story. If at ANY moment I say to Zinnia "I like myself ..." she will always answer "... because i'm meeee!" Now what could be a better message than that?!

Show love, grow love

Happy Reading Parents!
