Today's mindful moment is starting from a place of compassion. It is about cultivating a natural response within ourselves to look at all acts compassionately. Something that starts with conscious effort, and overtime, with a little practice, you will find becomes a natural response.
Maybe the person who cut you off on the subway has a boardroom of people waiting for them. Maybe the person who honked behind you just found out her father is in the hospital so she is racing to get there.
Yes, sometimes people are negative for seemingly no reason, but why not then, consider the lifelong series of events that might of happened to them to get them to a point of always being grumpy?

This book puts compassion, giving and gratitude so simply for young children.
It explains that everyone has an invisible bucket they carry with themselves everywhere. It goes on to say that not only is filling another's bucket the way to making others happy, but it fills up your own bucket as well.
They teach you about bucket fillers and bucket dippers. How to fill, and what happens when you dip.
