My all time favourite mantra! I found it while doing some self discovery in a "small" city in northeastern China. I was reading Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth and there it was, so simple, a concept I didn't realize I needed to learn.
This was a time well before being a mom or partner.
I use this mantra to bring myself back to reality and realize nothing in this life is forever.
The bad will always fade away and the good will come and go.
Right now Zinnia is very needy of my time and attention. I can't do much unless she's in my arms or on my lap. While it can get frustrating not being able to do all the things I should get done in a day, this mantra truly helps.
One day I won't be able to remember the last time she demanded we snuggle all day long, and for that reason, rather than get frustrated, I embrace these moments.
I'll get my to-do list done later, for now, I shall soak in the snuggles!
The ebb and flow of life is a truly beautiful thing. It allows us an opportunity to release any need for control and relax in knowing that things will always come and go, remain unpredictable and surprise us around every corner.
