My name is Miriam, I am a teacher, a mother of two, and I try to do my very best at both.
I have many defects; I can’t cook without burning my kitchen appliances, I am scared of the dark and sometimes I am surprised that I make it through the day in one piece. Recently I found myself
thinking “Why did I want another child!?”, but hopefully this will remain a secret (among myself and the other readers of this blog).
As you can see I’m not perfect but I embrace my imperfections as gracefully as I can!
Still, I think my children bring out the best in me and they are the most amazing gifts in the world. I love them, respect them and am their number one fan, even on bad days.
These articles are written from experience, from a normal - kind of weird - person’s point of view. Sometimes I “yay!” at the end of the day and sometimes I just barely survive.
What I hope, is to give you some insight to another person’s experiences as we go through parenting; a bit of help and, more than likely, a couple of good laughs.

About The Urban Hedgehog:
Canadian handmade modern and minimalist items for children
The Urban Hedgehog is a two-person, Canadian-based company. Their products are designed and hand-made by them - two family members - mother and daughter-in-law - who have become close friends over the years.
The entire process, from the design right through to the packaging, is Canadian.
Their process is very simple.
"First we come up with an idea, then we design the product and, if required, we have fabric printed at a Toronto-based textile company. Once we collect the fabric, we stitch it up, and then design and make our own packaging which we use to send your purchase off to you."
With immense creativity Miriam has an amazing eye for photography. To follow her adventures with her family and see her gorgeous photos along the way, follow her instagram account, you will love keeping up with her adorable kids!
